The rough-around- the-edges, deep New Orleans sound is what first got me hooked me on Benjamin Booker. That style stands out the most on his bluesy track “The Future Is Slow Coming.” Another track, “Violent Shiver,” will have you belting the lyrics out your car window, whether you know the words or not. His sound is catchy without being mainstream, something I find pretty difficult to pull off musically. His Southern blues vibe makes him all the more lovely to listen to and sing along with.
